The Dragon Boat Race is an annual event Aiman and his family never fail to attend.This exciting event is held along the Malacca River.This race draws thousands of people to gather along the riverto cheer on their favourite teams.
This year was especially because there were as many as 17 teams ever to participating.This is the most number of teams ever to participate.The boats are one meter wide and 6 meters long and made from wood.Each team comprises 12 members with 10 rowers,a drummer and pilot on board.
Aiman and his family found a spoud with a good view just in timeto see some teams making their way to the starting line. Members in each boat wore their team uniform while their boats had colourful decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails.
There were several preliminary races before the final competition. the team members worked hard and the crowd cheered on encourage tehm. Soon it was time for the final race. Aiman father started snapping photographs of the two teams. in a matter of minutes, the race was over.
Aiman and his family stayed on to watch the top three teams receive their prizes. After that, they went home.
